Dex 2D Cyberpunk Adventure Revisited ... and its full of bugs and bad design decisions!

When a game tells you to press F5 to save, you kinda assume that it means it saves, right? Not if that game is Dex. In Dex "save game" means "back up your autosave". That would not even be so bad, except that Dex uses checkpoint system where all your progress in a level is wiped if you "save" and come back. Some conversations are very lengthy, and when you reload, you must redo ALL of it again. That could mean wasting 30 minutes of your life every time you quit session, or die.

And dying in Dex is stupidly easy. You do not actually need to try to die. It just happens. You jump, not far enough, oops, you plummeted to your death. Every 5 feet. One hour in and I might be world record holder in deaths from falling into bottomless chasms. Every time that happens, its back to redoing all the conversations.

I found voice acting rather terrible, but to their credit it does appear that they did voice plenty of content.I think that money should have been saved and invested in better save point system.

I just checked Steam and it appears that Dex moved from Released back to Early Access. I guess ton of other folks are just as unhappy with nonsense they released.

Apparently there is a save game bug near the end that is destroying peoples progress. Lucky for me I am far too bus plummeting to my death repeatedly to get far enough anytime soon to have all my progress utterly destroyed.

Whoever decided to call this "spiritual successor to Deus Ex" needs to find a better shrink. I just replayed original Deus Ex recently, and its still better than most games. And, Deus Ex has a save game system that saves all your progress wherever you are without any issues.

I wanted to do a partial playthrough, but this game is nowhere near ready.
